Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been attached to star as Black Adam in Warner Bros. DC Extended Universe for years now.
The project has been on a slow burner, but now it looks like there may be some light at the end of the tunnel as the actor turned wrestler gave an update on the film’s development.
During the press rounds for his new film Rampage, The Rock spoke with Yahoo! and touched on the long-awaited Black Adam film, explaining things could be starting to ramp up.
“The script came in, it’s great, we’re working on it. If things come together in the way we anticipate them coming together, that feels like a 2019 movie, in production.”

Black Adam has been rumoured to appear in the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel as the film’s villain, with the report claiming the squad is on a mission to find a weapon of mass destruction; which turns out to be Black Adam.
