‘Shazam!’ New Set Images Offer a Closer Look at Costume & Doctor Sivana

We asked for them and now we’ve got them, the Wizard must have been listening to fans as new images from the set of Shazam! have surfaced, which in our opinion gives the best look at the costumed hero so far.

He looks amazing!

As many of you’ve already seen, we’ve been getting images of the new suit that hasn’t done it justice (no pun intended) along with and some behind the scenes videos. Until now, no one had been able to capture a high quality image the hero in full costume.

In the new images we can see such details as texture of the suit and a full-frontal look of Zachary Levi as Shazam! The costume looks 100% accurate to the New 52 depiction from the comics, and it’s beautifully sported by the actor.

In another image we get see the hero going toe to toe with the villain Doctor Sivana, played by Mark Strong. The scene gives a glimpse of how powerful of a foe he will be.

In the comics, Sivana has genius-level intellect, he’s a brilliant inventor, a skilled manipulator and strategist. Obviously from the images shown we really don’t know how powerful this interpretation of the villain will be.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam, courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

Shazam! Hits screens April 5, 2019
