Bomer will play Negative Man/Lawrence ‘Larry’ Trainor, he will voice the character and play Larry in flashback scenes. His roles are like that of Fraser’s who is playing Robotman.
Actor Dwain Murphy (The Strain) will provide the physical performance of Negative Man in the series.
Lawrence Trainor was a test pilot with the United States Air Force. Whilst experimenting with a space plane called K-2F, he was exposed to cosmic radiation after the plane went higher than it was supposed too. The radiation left Larry with transparent skin as well as leaving him radioactive. During his stay in a hospital, he met Dr. Niles Caulder. Caulder gave Larry specially treated bandages that blocked the radiation. Caulder also told Larry that he now had an energy being in him called the Negative Man – and that he could let the being loose any time he wanted. Following the shuttle’s crash, Larry had let it go, making him a special interest case for the government
Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) will pen the series. Greg Berlanti will exec produce the series alongside Geoff Johns.
Doom Patrol originally written and drawn by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani will appear on the fifth episode of DC Universe’s live-action series Titans.
The show is described as a reimagining of one of DC’s most beloved group of outcast superheroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane and led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part superhero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. The drama picks up after the events of Titans — which is also in the works at DC Universe and produced by Berlanti — Doom Patrol will find the reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.
Geeks Worldwide first reported the news of Bomer’s involvement.
