‘Justice League Mortal’: New Concept Art Shows Black Suit Superman, Batman and More

Years before Mad Max: Fury Road, director George Miller was going to bring DC Comics greatest heroes to the big screen in Justice League Mortal.

Megan Gale was to play Wonder Woman, D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Armie Hammer as Batman. Common and Adam Brody were also part of the cast, as Green Lantern and the Flash, respectively.

Unfortunately the movie was scrapped, and since then we’ve seen a few bits of concept art, now new images has surfaced from the film.

Conceptual artist matthatt0n who worked on Justice League Mortal ten years ago has released some new images.

The images feature some cool concepts, from Superman in his black costume hovering over a church, some of the Justice League members at the fortress of solitude where Supes has brought the Kent farm along.

This one was crazy! So remember how Superman brought Kent Farmhouse to the Fortress of Solitude? It went through a whole arc where George thought maybe bringing the whole thing there was a bit on the nose (Supes was having an existential crisis about his identity/loyalties) so maybe inside it’s a bit frosted over. Then maybe the house is real but the furniture is made from ice (heat vision)? Then maybe the other furnishings? Then finally ok make the whole place ice Matt! 😄 surely they have cg for this sorta stuff… 😜 It started out as a paintover of someone else’s house interior (I promise if I ever remember whose I’ll give credit) and ended up being a totally new painting! #conceptart #matthatton #justiceleague #justiceleaguemortal #georgemiller #superman #fortressofsolitude #kentfarm
