With Ben Affleck officially hanging up his cape and cowl. Warner Bros. are on the search for a new Dark Knight to star in Matt Reeves The Batman and according to a new report, the studio may have found their man.

UPDATED:

The Hollywood Reporters Bory Kit has denied the report, see his tweet below:

“I’m not in the business of debunking bunk but considering everyone got in a tizzy over this…there is no truth to the below. Being told there haven’t even been any actor meetings for THE BATMAN. (But that doesn’t mean Reeves and WB don’t have ideas of who they would like)”

Variety’s Justin Kroll also chimed in:

“Yeah, that BATMAN rumor is false. That said, potential for this week to be very interesting on a number fronts. Sleep tight.”

ORIGINAL POST BELOW:

Revenge of the Fans report Call Me By Your Name actor Armie Hammer is reportedly in “final talks” to play the Caped Crusader in Reeves film, scheduled to hit screens June 25, 2021.

Hammer has previous with the role, after he was cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman in George Miller’s scrapped Justice League: Mortal.

In the same report Revenge of the Fans say Robert Pattinson, who was also rumoured to be a frontrunner to play Batman, is actually being looked at by the studio for one of the villain roles.

Let the guessing games begin as to who? Perhaps the Riddler? Scarecrow? Hopefully theirs more to come on this front.

For me Hammer is a safe bet for Warner’s, he’s physically imposing and has the acting chops to pull it off. The big plus is he’s in his early 30’s and could easily play the role for the next 10-15 years.

Whilst nothing is official yet, we will keep you posted on the developing story. But for now, let us know in the comments below your thoughts on Hammer as Batman.
